Additio with Bronze National Award for Innovation – Success of Incubator MPIK

The company Additio doo, an incubator of the Koroška Network Business Incubator (MPIK), led by Alan Šapka, together with its partners the Faculty of Polymer Technology (FTPO) and the company LVP, received the bronze national award for innovation 2025, awarded by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia.

This is the FlexProtec innovation – an advanced next-generation sports protector made from a recycled composite that combines mechanically recycled wind turbine blades and recycled polypropylene from TAB-IPM. Added value is provided by an innovative 3D printed filling that allows for user customization and improved shock absorption. FlexProtec thus provides superior protection while following the sustainable guidelines of the circular economy.

The recognition is the result of successful cooperation between the research environment, industry and entrepreneurship, where Alan Šapek and his team showed that young companies from Koroška can also stand side by side with the biggest innovators in the country.

Pride of the region and encouragement for the future

At this year's Innovation Day 2025, 5 innovations from Koroška were among the award winners - from the special innovation challenge to silver and bronze awards. Among them is the achievement of the company Additio. The success proves that innovations with global potential are also born in Koroška and that the integration of knowledge, research and entrepreneurial energy pays off.
