MPIK event: How do I check if my business idea is viable?

In recent years, entrepreneurship has become a career choice for an increasing number of young people who want to develop their various hobbies and ideas into a business. And thus, pursue a job they are passionate about as a profession!

At the event, students will learn about the inspiring entrepreneurial story of Jane and Primož Gams from the company Dogs4motion. Together with them and Jure Knez from the Koroška Network Business Incubator, they will develop their business ideas into business models using the lean canvas methodology and then present them in a short presentation - a pitch. They will receive a lot of useful entrepreneurial advice and recommendations on how to further implement the idea and impress the first customers or users with it. And of course, how the Koroška Network Business Incubator can help them on their entrepreneurial path.

By participating in the event, students will:

understand what an idea must have to be called a business idea,
became familiar with the basics of lean entrepreneurship and testing entrepreneurial ideas on the market,
mastered the basics of entrepreneurial thinking,
got to know Dogs4motion as an excellent example of a start-up company,
see how MPIK - Network Business Incubator Koroška can help them realize their business idea.

Jure Knez

Head of the Network Business Incubator Koroška, which operates within RRA Koroška. 20+ years of experience in the field of tender applications and project implementation. Mentor and consultant for startup companies. Many years of participation in the Start:up Slovenia pre-selection committee and in co-creating the Carinthian and Slovenian startup ecosystem.

Jana in Primož Gams

At the end of 2018, the company Dogs4motion established the first center for veterinary rehabilitation and hydrotherapy for dogs in Slovenia at MPIK Ravne. It improves the movement of dogs, and also focuses on the physical preparation of sports and working dogs in the form of online training, seminars and workshops. By establishing the center in Koroška, the company has shown, among other things, that with the right team and an appropriate supportive environment, it is possible to succeed even in a remote region like Koroška.
